This little baby is 1 of 3 state proofs in preparation for the copper etching study (or close up) of the gas mask found in the work titled Trifecta on Sunday.
The SP mark designates the print as a working proof and as being further worked on. Sometimes etchings (such as this little guy) are assigned this mark as I continued to experiment with acid exposure to the plate, creating darker lines or variations in the design. You can see this in the varied SP1, SP2 and SP3 markings in the Mini Gas series before the plate was finalized on the master work, Trifecta on Sunday.
Fascinating stuff, eh???
From my work, Sunday, I was interested in doing a close up of the gas mask and still just get all the creepy feels from the Gas Mask Series I am conducting in varying mediums!
